Melissa Curtin has a diverse background in the private and social sectors. She previously served as President & CEO of the Richmond, Virginia-based Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence, an affiliated entity of The Community FoundationServing Richmond and Central Virginia. She was Vice President of Workforce Readiness, Business and Community Engagement for Corporate Voices for Working Families and Vice President for National Partnerships and Development at the Forum for Youth Investment. Throughout her career, she also served in a variety of leadership positions at Altria Client Services, Inc., Philip Morris USA, and the National Conference of State Legislatures.
A Colorado native, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wyoming and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver. She is a certified leadership coach, is certified to provide EmergeneticsWETeam training and teambuilding, and she is also a Standards for Excellence Licensed Consultant. The Standards for Excellence Institute is a national initiative established to promote the highest standards of ethics, effectiveness, and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations. Melissa has served on various advisory councils, the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Richmond & Tri-Cities, and is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond.
